COURTS

TENNIS AT BHSAT

Bloomfield Hills Swim and Tennis boasts six professional quality tennis courts (two with lights) and a pickleball court. All members have unlimited access to these courts via electronic passcard from April 1 to November 1 (note the times for youth/adult lessons or team practice on our website).

Bloomfield Hills Swim and Tennis has tennis programming for all ages and skill levels!

Tennis Teams
-Team Placement-

We will use our ladder system to determine lineup as in years past. The players we select for team is by both past and present play. Players must be able to rally and get their serve in at least 50 percent of the time. There is a Ladder Day each year on the second Saturday in June (see schedule for times). The ladder will be set up by staff, but players can arrange challenge matches during the season. 

A Teams

The most competitive team, they participate in travel matches against other clubs. There is an A Team for each 10U, 12U, 14U, & 18U.

B Teams

A competitive team, they participate in travel matches against other clubs. There is an B Team for each 10U, 12U, 14U, & 18U.

C Teams

A beginning competitive team. They get instruction and court time that includes match simulation and is designed to help them move up to more competitive play.
There is a C Team for 10U & 12U.

-To Register for the Youth Tennis Team-
Must be done by June 10th to avoid additional fees

NEW players must complete the New to Team Form and have Head Pro approval to join the team. Cost for all players is $185 for the 2023 team season. Drop a check payable to BHSAT Junior Tennis Team at the Club Office between 5/31 and the second Saturday in June (Ladder Day) with the player name/names in the memo line. If you have any questions about joining the team, contact the Head Pro at tenniscoach@bhsat.org.

YOUTH TEAM SCHEDULE

Ladies' Tennis League

A fun group of Ladies who love to play tennis and improve their skills. Those who wish to be on the competitive team can participate in travel matches against other clubs. These pay-to-play matches are played Friday mornings in the summer for the top/available players. Free drop-in practice is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm-9pm for any Ladies. Watch for information on the first practice in May.

Men's Tennis League

The Men's Tennis group gathers Tuesday nights from 7pm-9pm for free, drop-in informal practice and play. The skill level generally varies from Advanced Beginner to USTA 3.5-4.0+, but those who are advanced beginners are welcome to join after they can volley and serve with moderate accuracy.

LESSONS

CLINICS

Youth Clinics

Youth group lessons are designed for instruction and improvement and range from Beginner/Advanced Beginner to Intermediate to Excellence. You can register for some or all of the sessions which run Monday-Thursday for one hour each morning from June through mid-August ($75 per session in 2023).

Adult Clinics

On Saturday mornings we offer Beginner Clinics from 8:30 am-9:30 am ($20 per session in 2023) and Advanced Clinics/Competitive Play with Coaching from 9:30 am-11 am ($30 per session in 20). Contact the Head Pro by the Thursday before each session to register.

Private Lessons

We offer private lessons for all skill sets for both adults and youth. The price varies depending on the coach, but all are available for lessons. Semi-private lessons also can be arranged. Contact the Head Pro for information.
